Posted: January 15, 2014 in sports betting articlesTags: ac casinos
Another year of decline for the AC Casinos. Borgata and Resorts were the only casinos that held their own year over year. Atlantic club came out of restructuring and Revel is comparing to only 8 months of operation. It will be interesting to see how the online plays a factor into profits for 2014.
To put it into perspective of how little AC makes vs the world….consider Macua making over $40Billion vs all of Atlantic City making $2.86B.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) – Nevada’s largest casinos, still climbing out of the recession, suffered a combined net loss of $1.35 billion in 2013, marking the fifth straight year without an overall profit, state regulators reported Friday.
But there was some positive news in the annual abstract report released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which looks at the total revenue of casinos that gross more than $1 million in gambling revenue.
The total revenue of the 263 casinos included in this year’s report rose for the third consecutive year, to $23 billion. That’s an increase of 0.4 percent, or $99.2 million, from 2012.
While the casinos’ losses grew by 11.2 percent or $136 million, a control board analyst said much of that was tied to increased expenses.

Pennsylvania Table Games Increase while Revenues are flat

Pa. table games
Total gambling revenue at Pennsylvania’s 11 casinos was flat for the fiscal year that just ended, but gross revenue from table games grew 7.4 percent on the strength of continued strong growth at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem and the first full year of play at Valley Forge Casino Resort. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said casinos generated $3.14 billion in combined revenue from slot machines and table games during the fiscal year that ended June 30, up less than a tenth of a percent from the year before.

Atlantic City’s casinos did not get a June rebound in gambling revenue to give them upward momentum heading into the peak summer tourist season.
Altogether, the 12 casino hotels took in $240.2 million in revenue from their slot machines and table games, down 13 percent from a year ago, according to figures released Wednesday by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
Slot winnings were $179.1 million, off 11 percent, while revenue from table games came in at $61.1 million, a decline of 16 percent compared to last year.
The gambling industry has struggled with revenue declines in each month so far this year, showing that the sluggish economy and competition from casinos in surrounding states continue to hurt Atlantic City.
